5 Ingredient Pasta
A simple and delicious pasta with just 5 ingredients.
Ingredients
Ground Beef
1LB
Tomatoes
6-8
Onion
1 whole
Garlic
1-2 cloves
Pasta
1 box
- Use gluten free pasta for an even lighter taste
- Pick any type of pasta that you prefer
Steps
1. Brown Beef
Brown the beef, adding in salt to taste. Once done set to the side
2. Cook Onions and Garlic
Dice and mince the garlic and onion. Add the onion first and cook for ~12-15 minutes, then add the garlic and cook for another ~7-10 minutes
3. Cook Tomatoes
Cut the tomatoes in half and place in the pan face down. Cook until soft
4. Cook Pasta
At the same time as the tomatoes. Cook your pasta
- Cook just before soft enough to eat
5. Mash Tomatoes
Once soft, mash the tomatoes in the pan and mix with garlic and onion.
6. Extract tomato skins
Using tongs or a fork, extract as many tomato skins as you can
- You can use cherry tomatoes to avoid this
- You will take out quite a bit doing this, put everything into a bowl and at the end, strain everything in the bowl back to the pan.
7. Add Pasta
Add pasta to the tomato sauce and stir
8. Add Beef
From the first step, add your beef and stir in

- This is a great base to experiment on top of. I've made much more complicated versions of this recipe but all distill down to this one.
- You can use steak and even chicken in place of ground beef.
- If you use gluten free pasta, monitor carefully for softness as they cook faster than regular pasta.
